Ron Spence

I was born, raised, and educated in Vancouver many years ago. My Education went to the Masters level in Psychology which helped me in my restaurant and bar businesses. The latter half of my working life was spent teaching Business at Okanagan University College in the O.K. School of Business. All my life drawing has been my regular companion. My images are mostly just fun, (whimsical is a good descriptor) and best suited to hang in a Kitchen, Hallway or Bathroom. Each piece begins with an idea and a drawing. Then I do the framing with re-purposed frames and write my thoughts concerning the image. Thank you for looking … and hopefully enjoying what you see.

I derive so much delight and joy from creating my images. It is my desire to bring a smile to someone’s face as they look at my ‘Fancies.’ There are always memorable tunes coming from my old component stereo system, alluring aromas swirling from my stove, a delightful Tumbler of Spritzer or two beside my Sketchbook and they also contribute to my joy. When someone sees one of my images and decides they want to give it a place in their own life, I relive my pleasure again. It’s wonderful that something I made brought a smile to your face and I thank you from the tip of my pencil. - Ron Spence
